Design your own build

We have over 70 concept plans to choose from of all different shapes and sizes, or you can start from scratch with your own design. We have partnered with an excellent draughtsman who provides beautiful plans at a very reasonable price, or you can go with your own draughtsman or architect. We are there to guide you through this process and provide feedback on buildability and budget.

Price your own build

We have a straightforward process with easy-to-use templates for pricing your build. If you are in the main NZ cities we may be able to provide contacts of your required tradies, otherwise, we are here to help you through the process to accurately price your home for certainty going ahead.

Manage your Build

From Health and Safety, Site setup, scheduling, dealing with the council and everything in between - we have you covered. We have refined the process from years of building homes, and we are here to guide you through. It can be easier than you'd think.

Build advice

Are you stuck with your project? Come to a roadblock or just overwhelmed with no help? With over 18 years of building and project management experience in residential building work including complex renovations, architectural homes and group housing, I can help you to find a solution to your problems. We can help you get an idea of where to start, what to look for when buying a section, and provide some tips around getting finance for your build. Some banks have also recognised our professional guidance to support your construction loan application.

How it all works

Build Your Own Way is a mentorship program for people who want to project manage their own new home build. We are here to guide you through the most EFFECTIVE way to manage your own design and build from start through to completion, and provide full support and guidance through the whole process.

Our service aims to get you into your dream home as fast and as cost-effectively as possible while minimising stress and overwhelm with proper planning and guidance to avoid any issues before they arise.

Build Your Own Way gives you everything you need to achieve the following transformation:

Coaching: Weekly 1 on 1 Q&A calls (or site visits if in Dunedin) dedicated to you and your situation, focused on progressing and defining what you need to focus on and how to get it done the easiest way.

Content: Training videos on particular stages of the design and build process

Community: A private community away from distractions where you can grow with others on the same journey. This is in early stages so you will be a key part of helping grow this community.

Plans: Access to over 70 plans, if you choose to use them. Full experienced guidance on the plan process, to refine a plan that works for you, your land, and your budget.

Key Contacts and Trades: For design and planning, we have key contacts who we can highly recommend. If you live in certain NZ cities we have a database of highly recommended tradies who know us who are keen to quote your work.

Pricing and Management Tools: Access to our refined pricing tools, and our scheduling methods, so you can be confident that your build is on time and on budget. Full support and guidance through the pricing process.

Accountability: We will hold you accountable with reminders and setting goals during our 1on1s.

Support: Get support via our content, community, & coaching calls.
